The Southern Border Provinces Administration and Development Advisory Council has set up a panel to look into shooting that seriously injured a couple and killed their three sons this month.
The panel will find out the truth and create the right understanding,” council chairman Aziz Benhawan said yesterday.
The attack took place in Narathiwat’s Bacho district, and rumours spread that state officials might have had a hand in the bloody incident.
“We have called for a speedy and fair investigation to ensure justice,” Aziz said. He was speaking as he visited Padila Maman, the mother who was injured in the attack, at a hospital in Songkhla.
Aziz and his team from the council offered Padila moral support, some financial help, and assurance that relevant authorities were urgently looking into her case.
He also called on anyone who had crucial information on the case to contact his council. “We are the people’s sector,” he said.
