A 22-year-old suspect in a gruesome murder case was arrested yesterday as he was trying to cross the border in Chiang Mai's Mae Ai district.
A 22-year-old suspect in a gruesome murder case was arrested yesterday as he was trying to cross the border in Chiang Mai’s Mae Ai district.Pairoj Nanthatanti had been sought since last Thursday(January 3), when the mutilated and burned body of his former girlfriend was found in an apartment building in Nonthaburi's Pak Kred district. He had gone into hiding and was dressed as monk when he was trying to cross the border, an informed source said.
His car-presenter ex-girlfriend, Acharanee Rakcheu, 22, was found with her throat cut, body slashed and covered in burns. Based on security-camera footage, police issued an arrest warrant for Pairoj. He didn't resist arrest yesterday by officers from Provincial Police Region 1 and the local police. He was to be interrogated first at Chiang Mai police headquarters before being sent to Nonthaburi.
