Murder accused surrenders to police

A 19-YEAR-OLD man accused of killing two young boys and their babysitter in a home intrusion in Bang Lamung in Chon Buri on Saturday surrendered to Tha Moung police in Kanchanaburi yesterday.

Prachak “Auf” Masawaeng, 19, who was accompanied by his parents, told police he was angry with his girlfriend who returned late from work with the home owner, so he went to buy alcohol while waiting for her outside.

He reportedly confessed to entering the house and trying to rape the babysitter but said the homeowner’s seven-year-old son woke up and tried to intervene so he stabbed them to death and strangled the boy’s two-year-old brother to death before fleeing.

After the gruesome murders, police got an image of the suspect from the housing estate’s security camera footage. They identified him as Prachak, who was also wanted for two previous crimes – attempted murder and theft. He was only in Pattaya for three days, according to Chon Buri police chief Pol Maj-General Khatcha Thatsat.

After Prachak surrendered, |Tha Moung police hosted a press conference about his arrest for |the previous charges of attempted murder, theft and illegally detaining others.
