Kasetsart win accounting challenge event
A three-strong team from Kasetsart University yesterday won the first Thailand Accounting Challenge, hosted by the Federation of Accounting Professions, while Chulalongkorn University's teams pocketed first and second runner-up awards.
The federation's committee for accounting education and technology chairman Virat Apimetheethamrong said the winner was Kasetsart University's team - Thanwarat Chaemcharoen, Pratthana Nooyim and Morakot Jiramettrai. They got a trophy, plus a Bt30,000 scholarship and trainee program at world-class accounting firms Deloitte Ernst & Young, KPMG and PWC.
The first runner-up was Chulalongkorn (Kamonchanok Sonsoy, Kwanchanok Kraikulchuchok and Sorawit Natheerattanakamjai), while the second runner-up was another Chulalongkorn team comprising Eksakul Manakul-issara, Khunat Saraprathet and Rongrong Detrungrojpanya.
A total of 125 three-strong teams from 64 institutions attended this first-of-its-kind contest, which aimed to promote nation-wide university students' accounting technology and education.
