Police probing the late Olympian shooter Jakkrit Panichpatikum's murder will re-summon two half-brothers of the sportsman's wife, Dr Nithiwadee Phucharoenyos, for additional questioning.

Jakkrit was fatally shot on October 19 while on his way to meet Nithiwadee and their children, and police are focusing on a family dispute as a possible motive.

Metropolitan Police deputy chief Pol Maj-General Chayut Thanathaweerat yesterday said police wanted to examine all aspects of the reported family dispute as a possible motive. As a result, they have summoned some people as many as five times. Chayut declined to say what the police asked the half-brothers.

Another deputy police chief, Pol Maj-General Thitirat Nonghanpitak, said police were assessing evidence and information supplied by 42 witnesses in preparation for arrest warrants. It is thought the murder was committed by somebody close to Nithiwadee. Police should have more clarity by tomorrow, when a meeting of the case investigators and city police chief will be held, to be followed by a press conference.
