Funds sought for Krathin ritual
The National Office of Buddhism conducted a nationwide survey to find temples that lack people who support the Krathin ritual. The Sangha Supreme Council will host the ritual, which will be held on November 25, office director Nopparat Benjawattananant said yesterday.
The event marks the 2,600th anniversary of the Buddha’s Enlightenment, His Majesty the King's 85th birthday, Her Majesty the Queen's 80th birthday, and HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn's 60th birthday. Nopparat urged people to donate to the Krathin fund via Krungthai Bank account 059-0-19391-0 or call 0-2441-4535-41.Religious Affairs Department chief Preecha Kanthiya said the Queen graciously granted Krathin robes for all 175 temples in the deep South that lacked hosts. The royally granted Krathin ritual will be held on November 21 in Songkhla and on November 22 in Narathiwat.
