Five people were injured when a van carrying 10 British tourists collided with an SUV before crashing into a concrete fence in Sa Kaew's Wattana Nakhon district yesterday.
The accident took place at about 11.30am on Suwannasorn Road in tambon Phakka.
The four tourists, who were freed from the wreckage by rescue workers, and the van’s driver Pornchai Taumkrung, 40, were rushed to Aranyaprathet Hospital.
The initial investigation found that the van, which was heading to the Aranyaprathet border checkpoint, was being driven at high speed and collided with the SUV when the latter suddenly shifted. The SUV driver reportedly fled the scene.
