Farmers warned of low water levels
Severe drought has hit 27,358 villages in 38 provinces, Natural Resources and Environment Ministry permanent secretary Surapol Pattani said yesterday.
Following reduced rain last year and the release of water from dams to prevent floods, reservoir levels this year were lower than usual and the authorities plan to prioritise water for consumption. So, farmers had been warned not to plant off-season rice crops, he said.Latest stories in this category
