Physical examination of all 290 employees of a company operating a gold mine in Loei has shown that they are all in good health and not affected by industrial waste, the provincial Social Security Office said after conducting the tests.

The examination was ordered by provincial military authorities, who intervened in a dispute between the firm and local residents living near the gold mine in Wang Saphung district. This was one of the many conditions agreed upon by the disputing parties during mediation talks. There were no details available on whether the villagers would also need to undergo the examination.
