Convenience store robber surrenders

A man who along with a young accomplice allegedly robbed two convenience stores in Angthong province surrendered to police on Friday.

Angthong police commander Pol Maj Gen Somsak Opascharoenkit said Anusarn Silpradit, 24, had contacted police, saying he wanted to surrender and asked police to pick him up at a house in Samko district.

The suspect decided to surrender after being pressured by police and his relatives. Anusorn said that he managed to flee but his friend was arrested after robbing a 7 Eleven in Samko district. He fled to Prachuab Khiri Khan's Hua Hin district.

He and his accomplice had robbed two others convenience stores in Pathum Thani province and two others in Samko district.

He said he robbed the stores because he wanted money to buy drugs. The name of his accomplice could not be revealed, as he is 15 years old and a minor.
