Chiang Mai-based activist Natee Teerarojanapong and advocates yesterday called for RS Channel 8's soap opera Samee Chua Krao (Temporary Husband) to be cancelled within three days on grounds that it depicts conflicting morals within Thai society.

The group made their announcement outside the City Hall, saying they saw the inappropriate scenes in the drama’s teaser and contacted drama manager Isariya Saisanun for a discussion tomorrow.

“If things don’t go smoothly, we will bring this up before the National Council for Peace and Order through the Chiang Mai governor,” he said.

The soap drama tells of violent conflict between a mother and daughter, both of whom were intimately involved with the same man who worked as a male prostitute.
