CSD to take over child-killer cases

The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) is set to take over all cases related to the alleged serial rapist and killer known as Nui.

Police claim Nui confessed to having sexually attacked eight children and killed four of them.

Deputy Metropolitan Police commissioner Maj-General Thitiraj Nonghanpitak yesterday confirmed the CSD would be assigned to investigate all crimes committed by Nui.

Police started hunting down Nui after recordings from security cameras in Bangkok's Bang Na area showed he was with a girl whose parents had reported her as missing on the night of December 6.

Further evidence allegedly showed Nui raped and strangled the girl.

"He allegedly committed crimes in other provinces too. So, the CSD will take over," Thitiraj said.
