Bombs in South injure four

Two paramilitary rangers were slightly injured in a roadside bomb attack in Than To district in Yala yesterday morning.

The explosion at 7am in tambon Ban Hae wounded Lance Corporal Chanchai Yakij and volunteer ranger Montri Kongmongkol, as the eight-ranger team led by Chanchai patrolled the area on foot to provide teacher protection. Police blamed separatists for the attack.
Meanwhile, another bomb attack in Pattani’s Yarang district yesterday injured two border-patrolling policemen. 
Pol Sub-Lieutenant Supat Polsit, 53, and Pol Lance Corporal Wutthichai Khongsong, 21, were injured by the roadside bomb as they were riding on a motorcycle ahead of the team’s truck patrolling the route.
Meanwhile, a ceremony was held at Ramkhamhaeng Camp Airport in Songkhla yesterday before sending the body of Pol Lieutenant Montri Pummoradok, 33, to his hometown in Uttaradit. Montri sustained fatal injuries from a bomb attack last Friday in Yala’s Kabang district and was transferred to a hospital in Songkhla, where he was pronounced dead. He will be cremated on Thursday.
