BTS extension work resumes
The construction of a BTS extension from Taksin Bridge station to Phetkasem Road has begun, after a delay caused by last year's floods. Completion is scheduled before the Queen's birthday in August 2013.
The 5.3kilometre extension covers four stations and merges with a BRT commuter bus service from SathornRatchaphruek. The four stations are Phothi Nimit, Talad Phlu, Watthakas and Bang Wa, said deputy Bangkok governor Theerachon Manomaiphibool yesterday.
There is a parkandride space for this BTS extension at Wongwian Yai and Talad Phlu stations. This BTS extension will be linked to a service covering Taksin Bridge to Wongwian Yai, Thailand’s first railbased commuter train across the Chao Phraya river.
