Austrian Red Bull executive dies in Pattaya
An elderly Austrian man who was an executive with the Red Bull Company was reported to have died early yesterday after falling from a high-rise condominium in Pattaya.
PattayaOne website said police and rescue workers were called to Soi Wongamart in Naklua by guards, who found the body of Harald Schmidberger, 60.
He was reported to have fallen from the balcony of his 18th floor apartment. An inspection of his flat revealed a variety of medication to treat cancer. "Staff at the complex confirmed that Mr Schmidberger appeared in a depressed state over the last seven days, which they assume is connected to his illness as he lived alone," the website said.
The Austrian Embassy had been informed, it said.
