Police are seeking an arrest warrant for a Bannang Sata native, who was allegedly found to be involved in the car bomb attack in downtown Yala's Betong district, a source in the investigation team said yesterday.

Faosi Klupae, 33, was reportedly identified by security camera footage as a person who allegedly drove the explosive-loaded pick-up truck to the scene.

The source said police also suspected that Bannang Sata native Lukman Pulaprapeh, 26, who is wanted for another case in January 2008, was also in the pickup truck with Faosi, as per the security camera footage. Police are gathering evidence in order to seek an arrest warrant for him.

Two people were killed and dozens others wounded in the July 25 attack, which also set several vehicles and buildings nearby ablaze.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Abah Jehali, 35, and Makorseng Jehma, 28, for allegedly robbing a transport van that was later used as a getaway vehicle in the Betong attack.
