A Thai national was nabbed attempting to pass through the Bukit Kayu Hitam immigration checkpoint on Wednesday with two packets of syabu hidden in her backpack.

Kedah Customs Department deputy director Mohd Noor Yusoff said the drugs were worth RM446,880 in the market.

The 34-year-old woman was found carrying two compressed packets of syabu weighing 2.352kg in a hidden compartment in her backpack.

"We believe she's acting as a mule to distribute it in Penang," Mohd Noor told a press conference here Friday.
