Thai rockers young and old turn out to promote the upcoming concerts by Paramore and Sum 41
Two generations of Thai rock artists recently poured into The Rock Pub to take part in the press conference for two upcoming concerts by two international rock outfits from the US: Paramore and Sum 41.
Paramore currently features lead vocalist Hayley Williams, bassist Jeremy Davis and guitarist Taylor York. Their albums, 2005's "All We Know Is Falling" and 2009's "Brand New Eyes" were certified Platinum. The band just released its first new single, "Now" and expects to unleash its fourth studio album in April.
"Thailand will be the first country where we'll play our first single live," announced Williams in a video clip played during the press conference.
Sum 41 is a Canadian punk rock band currently made up of Deryck Whibley on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Tom Thacker on lead guitar, Jason McCaslin on bass guitar, and Steve Jocz on drums. The band was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for the song "Blood In My Eyes".
Thai artists contributing to the press conference were Neng The Voice, Laem Morrison, Kitti Guitar Gun, Chor On Na Bangchang, Olarn Phromjai, The Yers, Sweet Mullet, Brandnew Sunset, and Abuse The Youth.
Paramore will rock Thai fans at Centerpoint Studio in Soi Lasalle (BTS Bearing) on Tuesday at 7pm. Fellow American band MewithoutYou opens. Sum 41 play the same venue on March 6 at 6pm.
Tickets for Paramore are Bt2,500 and Bt1,800 while Sum 41's concert costs Bt1,800.
