Myanmar needs a bigger toilet

If Myanmar is going to see a surge in American visitors, one of them might as well be Madonna.

Concert promoter Ko Bo San has invited the pop goddess to perform and says she's interested.

"If she agrees to come, the concert would be a behemoth task for the organiser," he tells Eleven Media, The Nation's partner in journalism there. "We'd need modern sound and lighting systems and a huge venue. Even if we if could rent the sound and lighting from overseas, we'd still need a lot about preparation and services. Basic accommodations such as dressing rooms and bathrooms are still not up to standard."

Madonna could still be the first major foreign star to play Myanmar after Englebert Humperdinck had to cancel his show in Yangon last month due to a family crisis. If Madonna dawdles, Lady Gaga could sweep in first, or maybe dedicated Aung San Suu Kyi fan Bono will show up with U2.

Otherwise we're going to have to give them Asanee and Wasan Chotikul. They'd like them too,

Woody Milintajinda is promising "exclusive" stuff from actress Araya "Chompoo" Hargate when she appears on his show "Woody Talk" tomorrow night.

She's got 14 years in show business to discuss. "I'm a product of the industry and consider myself lucky to have got this far," she says in a preview clip.

She insists her relationship with businessman Wisaruth "Not" rangsrisingpipat is going great. "I'm not the flirtatious type and I think I'm okay, if you don't mind the fact that I'm not good at housework, like cooking." No wedding bells are ringing yet, but Chompoo says, "He's the man I see in my future."

There's also a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Chompoo preparing for the curtain to rise on "Reya: The Musical", in which she says she's putting 100 per cent effort. (And Nation Broadcasting, the producer, truly appreciates it. Break a leg, kid!)

"She's surprised us with her beautiful voice and discipline," says director Kriangsak "Victor" Silakong.
