Indulgence for an empty tummy
St Regis Bangkok launches the city's most extravagant brunch and it comes with free flow bubbly
From next week, you can indulge in the finest food and Dom Perignon over Sunday lunch thanks to a new brunch being introduced by the luxury St Regis Bangkok hotel.
At Bt7,900 plus taxes per person, you get to gorge on Western and Eastern yummies, array of cooked and fresh seafood, massive station of sweets and chocolate, all of it washed down with free flow Dom Perignon champagne.
The bubbly is Dom Perignon Vintage 2002 - the brand's youngest vintage on the market. Floral and peachy on the nose, the champagne has pleasant liquorice and dried ginger lingering on the palate, with smooth, well-rounded finish. Some champagnes might go well with sweets and strawberries, but Dom Perignon Vintage 2002 goes down well also with savouries, meats and dessert alike,
Then the feeding frenzy begins. For the third, and longest, course you can get a variety of egg menus with pork bacon, sausages, Turkey ham, hash brown, grilled tomato or baked beans, or Asian dishes such as Japanese omelette, Japanese-style pickled, braised duck with egg noodles, rice and kai jeow, kaya toast and many others.
Do leave some room though, as there is also a grill station that cooks up seafood and meat to your liking, with side dishes like stir-fried veggies, steamed or creamed spinach and truffle potato mash.
If you go for seafood, they have back grouper, Thai seabass, wild Indian ocean red snapper, Scottish salmon and king prawn on offer. For the hardcore carnivore, the chefs can cook various styles of Australian Waygu rib eye, French organic venison, lamb chop, wild pheasant, Spanish guinea fowl and Chateaubriand beef fillet.
Besides the items on the menu, you can also walk over to the adjacent buffet line and fill your plates with even more food. And there's coffee, tea and a cartload of sweets for the grand finale.
