Having a ball at the dance party
Stars from the
Former pop duo Lift Oil turned Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani into a dance hall last Saturday night welcoming thousands of their fans to the "Lift Oil Happy Party".
The show was divided into two parts - Happy and Party - and the production was well equipped with colourful lights, a powerful sound system and many large projectors that screened funky graphics as well as lyrics.
The duo, who split in 2003, reformed especially for the three-hour show, performing a medley of 30 hit songs and inviting their friends from their former label RS Promotion to join the reunion.
The show opened with a stage decorated as a circus scene. Supoj "Lift Chancharoen and Thana "Oil" Suttikamon, attired in nifty two-toned suits, launched their set with hit dance songs "Rom Bor Joi", "Pen Yang Nee Eek Nan Mai", "Khata" and "Yum Trawen Ratree".
The lights dimmed as the duo segued into sad songs "Noi Jai", "Kran Jai" and Chan Thang Nun", but the mood quickly turned to laughter when Oil started singing the wrong words to "Rak Thur Tae Thur Mai Roo".
"I just wanted you to know we didn't take up lip synching," Oil said, hiding his face in his jacket.
Special guest Somchai "Tao" Khemklad had the hall rocking with his hit singles "Som Chai Jarod Praitao", "Bodyguard" and "Lok Tang Bai Hai Nai Khon Diao" while Boriboon "Tak" Chanrueng cracked gags before handing over to Touch Na Takuatung, who had fans dancing to "Thao Fai" and "Leun".
Laughter rang out as the duo and Touch handed out inhalants to the audience as souvenirs while stagehands transformed the stage into a zoo. The duo returned in zebra outfits and performed high-tempo dance singles "Doo Mai Doo" and "Khor Man".
Former trio Bazoo entertained with a set that included "Thor Eay", "Phee Fah Party" and "Cheer".
The duo wrapped the concert with a medley featuring "A-Ha", "Jood" and "Der Taa 2".
