Eden amid the bustle
Le Spa at Pullman Bangkok King Power will treat you right, from head to toe
Le Spa at Pullman Bangkok King Power is a city oasis that's luxurious without being overly extravagant. This Eden in the bosom of the bustle offers everything from revitalising facials and body scrubs and energising body wraps to soothing massages and depilatory waxing.
Men and women alike emerge feeling like a million dollars from the eight warmly lit treatment rooms, which are fitted with dark wood furniture and divided into singles and doubles for Thai traditional massage and reflexology.
For luxurious pampering, try the three-hour King Power Rituals for two priced at Bt10,500 in a spa suite with two treatment beds, steam, shower and Jacuzzi. The package starts off with Thai massage to stretch your muscles and is followed by a steam bath, a scrub with Thai herbs and finishes with a relaxing oil massage.
The best deal, which is available until the end of this month, is the 90-minute Luxury Paradise treatment for Bt2,999. You can choose your favourite Thai Panpuri scrub from a list that includes anti-oxidant green tea, anti-inflammatory turmeric, jasmine rice and oat milk to soften the skin or tamarind to bright dull skin. The treatment involves scrubbing the entire body for about 30 minutes followed by a 60-minute aroma massage with coconut oil to improve circulation, relieve stiff muscles and alleviate stress. The pressure can be adjusted to meet the needs of the individual.
Once the body is totally relaxed, it's time to focus on the face with a Decleor Aroma White Acacia Flowers treatment for Bt5,500. The French brand uses only natural products and is said to be excellent for revitalising tired skin. Over the course of 90 minutes, I'm swathed in at least 10 facial-repair products. A skilled therapist begins by dissolving all traces of oil from my eyes and lips with essential oils, then cleans my face with cleansing milk. She sweeps away signs of fatigue with scrub and aroma cleanser then ensures all traces of impurities disappear with a wash of soft pink toning lotion.
A lymphatic drainage massage is next and begins with an application of skin care gel with plant extracts and alpha hydroxyl acids, followed by an aromatic essence serum to fast track the beauty-boosting texture. The comforting concentrate is applied with a gentle massage and soon the lymphatic drainage is at an end with a final application of an aromatic night balm.
The therapist applies an ultra soothing cream before covering my face with a flower pel moisturising mask that she leaves for 15 minutes then gently removes. The aromatic serum is applied again, followed by a brightening night cream with a protective layer of SPF15 for elasticity and hydration.
Thirty minutes later, I'm back in the chaos of Bangkok's traffic but my body and face feel wonderfully refreshed and moisturised.
