The Venetian resort is treating families to spectacular fun
The Venetian Macao is hosting its third annual carnival celebration in a grand Italian style at the Venetian lagoon. Supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office, the Italian-theme Venetian Carnevale offers visitors loads of fun until May 26.
The lagoon is focusing on everything Italian for the spectacular festival offering action-packed fun for the family with some of the world’s most exciting acts, fusing theatre, dance, music and circus. Visitors to the Venetian can expect to be wowed by everything from the carousel and game booths, to kids’ activities, music, food and drinks.
Highlights include street performers, a carousel for children, the Zorb ball, a caricaturist, an Italian glass-blowing demonstration, acrobats, jugglers and clowns, musical performances and even opera singing.
There are also game booths and face-painting for small fees that go to charity.
You might have enjoyed the gondola ride along the canal indoors at the Venetian, but during the Carnevale you can take a ride outdoors in the lagoon.
Jump on board, name your favourite Italian number to your gondolier, and then sit back and enjoy the view.
Apart from the culinary treats at the Venetian, you can opt for an al fresco snack at Cafe Venezia.
They serve pizza, Italian ice cream, coffee and alcoholic drinks, and it’s a decent |spot to enjoy the outdoors, observe the fair and watch the crowd go by.
Stay on till dusk and be mesmerised by the Magical Masks of Venezia 3D light-and-sound projection on the facade of the hotel, with spectacular special effects until June 2, taking place every half hour from 7.30 to 10pm.
Opened in 2007, the Venetian Macao Resort-Hotel is Macau’s first integrated resort featuring stunning replicas of the famous canals and architectural icons of Venice, Italy.
The Venetian features 3,000 suites, 111,000 square metres of convention and meeting facilities and the 15,000-seat Cotai Arena designed for world-class sports events and electrifying entertainment.
