U.S. stocks ended higher amid light trading for the second straight day Thursday.
Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 28.23 points, or 0.3 per cent, to close at 10,415.24.
The S&P 500 gained 5.31 points, or 0.5 per cent, to close at 1,104.18, while the Nasdaq composite rose 7.33 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 2,236.20.
Most key S&P sectors finished higher, led by financials, health care and telecom, while materials was down.
Crude oil fell 42 cents to closed at USD 74.25 a barrel, while gold settled at USD 1,247.2 an ounce.
