U.S. stocks closed up ahead of U.S. jobs report for August.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended up 50.63 points, or 0.5 per cent to 10,320.10.
The S&P 500 rose 9.81 points, or 0.9 per cent, to 1,090.10, while the Nasdaq rose 23.17 points, or 1.1 per cent, to 2,200.01.
Most S&P sectors were higher, with consumer discretionary, industrials and materials stocks performing well.
Crude oil closed at USD 74.81 a barrel, while gold settled at USD 1,252.6 an ounce.
