U.S. stocks close over 2.5 per cent after strong U.S. and Chinese manufacturing reports alleviated concerns over the global economy.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 254.75 points, or 2.5 per cent to end at 10,269.47.
The S&P 500 ended up 30.96 points, or 2.95 per cent, to 1,080.29, and the Nasdaq ended up 62.81 points, or 3 per cent, to 2,176.84.
Crude oil prices jumped USD 2.13 to USD 74.05 a barrel, while gold settled at USD 1,247 an ounce after previously hitting a two-month highs.
