U.S. stocks closed mixed Tuesday after the Federal Reserved said the U.S. economy would have to deteriorate further more before support is to be provided.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 4.99 points to close at 10,014.72,
The S&P 500 gained 0.41 points to close at 1,049.33, while the Nasdaq fell 5.94 points to close at 2,114.03.
Gold prices rose to a two-month high, above USD 1,250 an ounce,while crude oil tumbled 3.72 per cent to USD 71.92 a barrel.
