Thai Chamber of Commerce on Thursday agreed to recommend to PM Abhisit Vejjajiva to cancel his plan to visit Chiang Mai province to chair a nationwide meeting of chamber of commerce.
Dusit Nontanakorn, president of TCC, said that the TCC will submit a letter to Abhisit, suggesting him not to go to Chiang Mai to prevent possible violence and to reduce conflicts.
The TCC, which organised the meeting, viewed that it was not necessary for the government to spend budget on PM's security preparation.
However the meeting will still be held between November 27 and 29 and will be attended by about 2,000-3,000 participants.
