Pongsapat reasoned that he has been appointed as an advisor for the Royal Thai Police in charge of security affairs so he will not have time to perform the spokesman duty.
Pongsapat said he is willing to support the next police spokesman.
Pongsapat has been serving as the Royal Thai Police spokesman for five times since 1994.
