Pheu Thai MP given suspended jail term for House brawl

The Dusit Kwaeng Court on Tuesday found Pheu Thai MP Karun Hosakul guilty of physical assualt in the House last year and sentenced him to a one-month imprisonment suspended for two years.
The court for petty crimes cited Karun's no prior record as ground for leniency on the jail term although he had still to pay Bt1,000 fine for his offence.
In reaching the verdict, the presiding judged outlined that Karun was involved in the attack against Democrat MP Somkiart Pongpaiboon in the cafeteria of the House last April.
At the time the Pheu Thai Party was the main coalition party and the Democrats were in the opposition.
