PM pleads for public calm following several Bangkok bomb attacks

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva Sunday told the public not to panic following several small bomb attacks at the Bangkok Bank head office and branches Saturday night.
He said the bomb attacks were launched by only a small group of people and the authorities were checking security cameras' feeds to try to find the culprits.
He said the government would step up security measures for monitoring key areas and the government will enlist help from the Army to deploy troops to help police.
The prime minister said the people could face inconvenience at the security officials would have to set up several road checkpoints.
"I would like to plead with the public not to panic. Don't fall victims to those who want to create turbulence," the prime minister said.
