The House on Thursday decided by the vote of 292-to-10 to drop the draft organic law on state audit, paving way for the redraft of the controversial bill.
Speaking before the vote, House Speaker Chai Chidchob said the fate of the bill had no bearing on the nomination of the auditor general nor the litigation related to incumbent Khunying Jaruvan Maintaka who insists on carrying on her job despite the mandatory retirement at 65.
Chai said the nomination process could be activated before the enactment of the organic law and without having to await the judical decision on the Jaruvan case.
