Euro up in Asia amid easing of concerns over Greece's debt crisis


The euro extended a rebound in Asian trade

Wednesday as concerns that Greece's debt crisis will spread to the EU.

The euro firmed up to USD 1.3769 in Tokyo early Wed. from 1.3764 in

NewYork late Tue. and to 124.22 yen from 124.09. The U.S. dollar gained to

90.22yen from 90.13.

The EU currency last week dipped to a 9-month low of USD 1.3532 on concerns that other EU nations, such as Portugal, Ireland, Italy,

And Spain could be hit by problems such as Greece.
