The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed on Thursday below 10,000 amid light trade as investors await upcoming announcement of second-quarter GDP and speech by Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke
The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 74.25, or 0.74 per cent, to close at 9,985.81. It was the first time the index finished below 10,000 since early July.
Energy, tech and financials were among the weakest shares.
The S&P 500 index fell 0.77 per cent, while Nasdaq ended 1.07 per cent lower.
Crude oil at USD 72.94 a barrel, while gold was at USD 1,237.4 an ounce.
