Democrat chief adviser Chaun Leekpai on Thursday said he was surprised about a complaint about his job qualifications.
"I am ready, however, to defend any charges and will explain away any issues related to my qualifications," he said.
Chuan was reacting to news reports that senator Ruangkrai Leekitwattana had petitioned for the Election Commission probe.
Ruangkrai contends Chuan has violated a constitutional ban for senators and MPs to hold office in government agencies. As an eminent figure, Chuan sits on two state university councils, Silapakorn and Prince of Songkla.
