Chai offers to mediate a political settlement

If agreed by parties concerned, Parliament can be the venue of talks between the government and the red shirts to settle their political differences, House Speaker Chai Chidchob said on Thursday.
"I am willing to act as a go-between in order to pave way for talks," he said.
Chai voiced optimism that the upcoming rally would not spiral of control because Thai people are known for their compromising and gentle nature.
