The Bhum Jai Thai Party on Wednesday issued an ultimatum demanding the departure of Puea Pandin from the coalition alliance on the ground of casting censure votes against its two ministers, Chaovarat Chanweerakul and Sophon Saram.
"Prime Minister Abhisit (Vejjajiva) must choose between Bhum Jai Thai and Puea Pandin because the two parties could no longer work together on the same team," Deputy Transport Minister Suchart chokchaiwattankorn said.
Suchart said Puea Pandin must be cut loose if the coalition alliance is to stay intact.
He said the rift between the two parties originated from a series of disagreements over the allocations of funds for the construction of highway and local roads.
