Asian stocks up slightly

Despite modest gains on Wall Street overnight, Tokyo shares rose 0.3 per cent while Seoul and Sydney finished in the red after advancing in the previous session.

Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.3 per cent, highest close in two weeks
