Asian stocks rose on Monday following Wall Street gains last Friday encouraging U.S. job data which boosted optimism in the U.S. economic recovery.
Japan's stocks rose 1.5 per cent, gaining for a fourth straight session amid hopes that the U.S. economy would not fall back into recession.
Seoul shares gained on technology shares issues, while Australian stocks rose 0.5 per cent.
Taiwan stocks advanced 0.7 per cent as they tracked gains on Wall Street, buoyed by a more positive global economic outlook.
Hong Kong's stocks extended gains to a fourth straight session.
Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.6 per cent to 2674.60, while Singapore's Straits Times Index traded 0.4 per cent higher at 3,015.50.
