Asian stocks quiet

Trading was quiet overall in Asia on Monday as most markets were closed for the Lunar New Year holiday celebrations.

Japan's Nikkei stock average slipped, amid concerns on global growth after China lifted banks' reserve requirements offsetting better-than-expected Japanese gross domestic product data.

Overseas markets were rattled last Friday by China's move, which followed similar action last month and was earlier than expected, raising fears that monetary tightening in the world's third-largest economy would be more aggressive than thought and potentially damage global growth.
