Asian stocks were mixed on Friday, despite gains on Wall Street following better-than-expected U.S. jobs and trade data.
Japan's Nikkei index rose 181.42 points, 1.21 per cent to 9,279.81 by midday of Friday, pulling away from the 16-month low on Sept. 1. The broader Topix gained 1.5 percent to 838.89.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index roe 1.20 per cent at 1,805.65 points.
Australian stocks fell 0.35 per cent at 4566.0.
Hong Kong and Shanghai traded lower, while stocks markets in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia Philippines and and India are closed for public holiday.
