Asian stocks lost ground on Friday following falls on Wall Street after weak outlooks from U.S. technology companies and downbeat comments by a Federal Reserve official underlined concerns about the U.S. economic recovery.
Japan's stocks lost 0.6 percent. The benchmark Nikkei shed 1.87 per cent at 9,643.23.
The broader Topix shed 0.4 percent to 857.47.
Korea Composite Stock Price Index fell 0.87 percent at 1,755.48.
Australian stocks index dropped 0.82 per cent at 4486.6. The market slipped 0.1 percent on Thursday.
New Zealand's benchmark NZX 50 index gained 10.9 points to 3044.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell 0.6, snapping an eight-day winning streak.
Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.16 per cent.
Taiwan stocks dropped 0.5 percent to 7,754.46.
Singapore's Straits Times Index fell 0.53 per cent, while Malaysia's KLCI dropped 0.11 per cent.
