5 soldiers injured in Pattani bomb attack


Pattani - Insurgents detonated a homemade bomb to ambush a patrol unit of soldiers Thursday morning, injuring five troops, police said.
The ambush occurred at the Tambon Priki - Tambon Klong Mai Road in Yarang district at 7:55 am.
The unit of nine soldiers was patrolling the road as part of teaches protection and when they arrived at the spot, the insurgents detonated the bomb using a wired remote.
Police said the bomb weighed about 15 kiolgrammes.
The five were slightly injured and rushed to the Yarang district hospital.
