Minor International will spend Bt10 billion to open 42 hotels and food outlets in domestic and international locations over five years to drive revenue up 10-15 per cent per year.
Net profit during the period is set to grow 20 per cent per year.
About 45 per cent of the budget is for hotels and 55 per cent for the food business.
Pratana Mongkolkul, chief financial officer of MINT, told an analysts’ meeting yesterday that hotels would be expanded from 33 to 75 by 2015, of which 12 properties will be invested in by the company.
The group has signed 11 overseas and domestic management contracts and expects to add 10 management contracts yearly.
“Our focus will be placed mainly on China, India, the UAE, Africa and the Maldives,” she said.
The group estimates revenue will rise by 10 per cent this year, or Bt1.7 billion, from Bt17 billion last year.
Over the past three quarters, its revenue increased by 10 per cent, but will slow to 3-4 per cent this quarter because of the floods.
According to a document delivered to investors yesterday, the group plans to manage a hotel on Pha-ngan Island and one in Bangkok called the Anantara Sathorn next year.
In 2012, it will start managing the Anantara in Bali and invest in a hotel in Sri Lanka.
By 2015, the group plans to increase its franchised restaurants to 1,371 from 443 now and its own stores to 803 from 690.
MINT will operate seven Anantaras in China, Maldives, Bali, Oman and the United Arab Emirates next year.
Peter Carmichael, senior vice president of Anantara, said the Anantara Kihavah Villas in Maldives would feature 78 beach suites when its opens in January.
In southern China, the Anantara Sanya Resort and Spa is situated on the serene Luhuitou Peninsula, Xiaodonghai, on the southernmost point of Hainan Island.
The Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort the Spa is in the midst of the Hengduan Mountains, Xishuangbanna, in Yunnan province.
The Anantara Al Madina A’Zarqa Resort and Spa will open in Oman with 122 rooms, while the Anantara Uluwatu Resort and Spa is to open in Bali.
Al Sahel by Anantara on Sir Bani Yas island will be a unique addition to the destination of Abu Dhabi. Al Yamm by Anantara on the same island will offer tranquil sea-facing chalets on the beautiful eastern shores.
