Yoga firm eyes Europe

Absolute Yoga is aiming to expand its health and wellbeing centres to Japan and Europe next year.

Benjaporn Karoonkornsakul, director and certified instructor, said yesterday that in Europe, the company was looking at Finland, England and Germany.

It has seven branches in Thailand and one in Singapore.

The company expects its revenue to increase 15 per cent from Bt120 million last year after introducing a Pilates class in the Emporium today.

The class is targeted at working women and men aged 2550. At this fourday event, the company expects to sell Bt3 million worth of class packages.

Altogether 40 Pilates Reformer Machines, costing Bt200,000 each, were imported for this class.

Many Hollywood stars practise Pilates to keep their body fit, and more people in Thailand are becoming interested in this exercise, she said.

This year it will close two branches and open two on Chaeng Watthana and Sathorn roads.

Next year it plans to add two branches with a Bt50 million budget. One will be in Bang Na but the other location is still up in the air.

Absolute Yoga also owns the Absolute Sanctuary resort on Samui, which contributed revenue of Bt60 million last year on top of the Bt120 million revenue of Absolute Yoga.
