Strengthening team and technology along with joining the "Cloud Computing" market
Fujitsu Thailand outlined plans to further boost operations in Thailand for 2010. Under the theme, "One Fujitsu", the organisation will focus on delivering uniform, optimal services to customers in every region of the world. Investments will be made towards employee training, expansion into new markets as well as the implementation of Cloud Services.
Speaking at Fujitsu's annual strategy presentation, Masaki Kajiyama, President of Fujitsu Systems Business (Thailand). revealed the financial figures for Fujitsu's global fiscal year 2009 (April 2009 to March 2010). Total sales for the year was at U.S. $ 50,317 million (approximately Bt1.6 billion) with a net profit of over U.S. $ 1,000 million (approximately Bt32,000 million), and paying out double dividend per share than expected. Fujitsu Thailand was able to achieve a sound performance of Bt2,200 millionfor 2009, close to the achievements in 2008 amid challenging market conditions. This was a result of strategic planning principles, including restructuring the lines of businesses, strengthened focus on the profitable core (Core Business) of the organisation and development of new products or services to meet changing customer needs.
Fujitsu's business objectives in 2010 will focus on driving Fujitsu organisations both locally and regionally towards being a truly global organisation, as well as a continued emphasis on developing new services and businesses. In addition, Fujitsu is focused on supporting all regions needing to share and learn together in a manner of creating a Human-centric intelligent society through the accumulated valuable experience which Fujitsu received while working together with the customer, business partners or the employees. It leads to the creation of something new and useful to customers and also to maintain the same standards across the regions and around the world.
"In Thailand, we will be focused on expanding our customer base in key industries such as telecommunications, banking, business, healthcare, government and marketing services along with Mid-market customers for 2010. Focus will also be on strengthening the virtualisation market and Green IT technologies to reduce energy consumption, working in partnership with our key partners to develop new and better solutions for customers and also our drive towards Cloud Computing," commented Kajiyama.
Masayuki Kunimaru, Regional Application Services, Fujitsu Asia expanded on Fujitsu's investment in research and development in order to create business value for customers. He noted that in 2010, Fujitsu has focused its resources, working closely with partners in leading IT industries to offer a larger variety of solutions and also expansion into various industries, key being the telecommunications industry. Fujitsu has successfully developed solutions to support business telecommunications or Telco, evident by the partnership with SAP and Salesforce.com to offer solution offering solutions in ERP, CRM, with a focus on Cloud Computing offerings that cover a full range consumption - Infrastructure as a Service, Application as a Service, Activity as a Service and Content as a Service. Fujitsu has also allocated a total of 1,100 million US dollars towards Cloud Computing for the year, which is 54% more than a year ago.
"What makes Fujitsu different from other IT services is that we leverage resources from teams around the world and from the various regions to better cater to customer needs in Thailand. We have allocated 5.3% of our budget for research and development as well as staff training to help us achieve that goal. One key example is the Cloud workshop in 2012 which will involve up to 5,000 employees across the Asean region, including Thailand. We currently have over 2,500 personnel supporting our customers in every line of business including more than 400 people functioning within the application development team and a customer service team of 150 people to service our customers in Thailand.," Kunimaru concluded.
