The strong current of run-off water from the Phu Khieo Mountain range burst a local dyke and flooded more than 100 houses in Chaiyaphum yesterday.
Man Thanomsat, a village head in Ban Khwao district, said relief items were being handed out to flood victims.
"More than 500 people are affected," he said.
He added that sandbags were also given to people.
