PRESS RELEASE

10,000 jobs up for grabs at JobsDB, ICT Ministry Career Exhibition

JobsDB.com, the Ministry of ICT and their partners have combined to organize Career Exhibition 2010 by JobsDB at the Plenary Hall of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center from September 17-19. This is the sixth edition of this Career Exhibition, and it will feature e-recruitment solutions using barcodes to facilitate the job applications of some 80,000 participants at the event.

"JobsDB.com is the first company in Thailand to hold such a large and sophisticated career exhibition -- and this will be the sixth of its kind," said Satinee Mokaves, Managing Director, JobsDB Recruitment (Thailand) Co Ltd.

"Last year's event saw more than 50,000 participants applying for 490,000 jobs, and we succeeded in helping at least 10,000 of them to find jobs. We are proud to be part of the effort to stimulate the country's economy by finding employment for people looking for work.

"To respond to the increasing number of people hunting for jobs - we're expecting 80,000 this year - the event will feature our sophisticated e-recruitment solution that's equipped with a barcode. Its aim is to integrate job recruitment with the Internet and provide the fastest and most efficient solutions for job hunters and recruiters alike.

"It will provide a platform where job hunters and companies looking for new employees can meet, with the advantage of being able to screen and scan applicants with the right qualifications that answer to companies' requirements."

JobsDB.com's barcode system also helps job hunters by eliminating the need to bring their resumes with them to apply for a job. The barcode will be a key pass to help them make a 'paperless' application. All they need to do is register with www.jobsdb.co.th/ce in advance, and they will receive a barcode at the event.

"It's so simple. You can apply for as many jobs with as many companies as you like with just one click," said Satinee.

Ajin Jirachiefpatana, Director of the ICT Industry Promotion Bureau at the ICT Ministry, said that the Ministry was committed to raising the competitiveness of the ICT industry, and benefitting the country by promoting technology transfer among entrepreneurs, especially those in the software and digital industries.

"The ICT Ministry is glad to help by setting up the ICT systems to be used at the exhibition, as we believe this event will be of value both to companies and to people looking for jobs," said Ajin.

"It's a place where job hunters and companies can meet directly, and JobsDB.com is a leader in creating, researching and developing innovative software and data management solutions. All this makes it easier for those who are seeking employment, and cuts costs for companies looking for staff."

Business partners contributing to the exhibition include Kasikorn Bank Group, Siam Commercial New York Life Insurance PCL, Panasonic Management (Thailand), Bangkok Bank PCL, Prueksa Real Estate PCL, Siam City Cement PCL, Central Group, Thansettakit newspaper and Microsoft (Thailand).

Microsoft (Thailand) will set up its latest, high quality SQL Server 2008 R2 Datacenter Edition, at the exhibition. It will have the capacity to collect hundreds of thousands of applications at high speed and with complete accuracy to ensure the most effective data management solutions for JobsDB and partners.

More than 100 companies will have booths at the three-day exhibition, which will also feature a wide variety of activities. These will include English skills testing by Wall Street language school, Interview in English tips by Christopher Wright, a White Ocean talk by Danai Chanchaochai, a Dhamma lecture by Phra Ajarn Mitsuo Kwesko, information on how your horoscope can help you get a job, by astrologer Mongkut Singhanant, and how to create your own professional PR profile by Earth Saisawang.
