The Department of Special Litigation, which comes under the Office of the Attorney-General, told the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) that the TPI Polene and Messiah Business and Creation siphoning case needed further investigation because there were still some irregularities.
For instance, after further investigation the Office of the Attorney-General found that the TPI Polene contract with Messiah Business and Creation only had one signature, that of TPI Polene executive Prachai Leophairatana. The law requires that such contracts carry at least two executives' signatures, a source at the Office of the Attorney-General said.
Moreover, TPI paid Messiah for a public relations project without inspecting the job done, the source quoted the attorney-general as saying.
DSI director-general Tharit Pengdit said he had not received any instructions from the Office of the Attorney-General, and that his agency was ready to do the additional investigation.
The siphoning case has been linked to TPI Polene's allegedly illegal Bt258-million donation to the Democrat Party in 2005, which could lead to the party's dissolution.
