Daughter of U.S. ambassador dies in a high-rise fall: report


Washington Post reported that Nicole John, daughter of U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Eric G. John, died early Friday morning after falling out of a high-rise Manhattan apartment building.

The website of Washington Post quoted the New York Daily News as reporting that the 17-year-old died after falling from the 25th story of the Herald Square Towers on West 34th Street, a few blocks from the Empire State Building, according to New York police sources cited by.

Investigators believe she was with a group of people partying in the building before she fell about 4:15 a.m. Witnesses told police that she leaned out a window for fresh air before tripping and falling.

Nicole John attended high school in Bangkok, according to her father's official biography.
